This guesthouse is located right at the front of the Hachiman-bori Canal.
It’s only a 5-minute walk to the old town, making it a very convenient location.
Hachiman-bori often serves a film location for Japanese movies and dramas,
including famous works like Hissatsu Shigotonin,
Rurouni Kenshin, and Asa ga Kita.
The guesthouse is a lovingly restored traditional house over 100 years old,
transformed into a peaceful space that blends traditional Japanese design with modern comforts.
You can relax on the soothing tatami mats and enjoy the view of the small courtyard,
Hachiman-yama (Mt. Kakuyoku), and the boats passing through the canal from the living room.
The scenery changes with the seasons, offering something new each time.
The traditional wood beams that span the ceiling
and the main pillar called “daikoku-bashira” that supports the house,
which are rare features today.
The nostalgic warmth of the wooden house embraces you with the slow passage of time.
Spend a peaceful time here with family,
friends, or loved ones.
Let’s wake up early and take a walk to Hachiman-yama nearby in the fine morning.
From there, you can see the town of Omihachiman bathed in the orange glow of the morning sun.
The beautiful sunrise promise
you can spend a good day.
Next door to the guesthouse, you’ll find the popular sweets shop "amaimonya Ai,"
where people line up including parents
with their children.
The shop focuses on using simple ingredients so that everyone can safely enjoy the treats.
